Hi all, it has been too long! I had a pretty busy schedule during summer (think: work - study - exams - vacation), but the good news is: I'm back with a lot of news! Yes, I also went to London and I have a few new good places I'll add to the website soon. Read on for your daily dose of London.
#1 Tube at night
FINALLY! From 12 September 2015 the tube will drive on Friday and Saturday nights! (Jubilee, Victoria, Picadilly, Central and Nothern line) So no reason anymore to look up difficult bus schedules to get back to your hotel/appartment during the weekend #hooray!
#2 Halloween is coming
The infamous Crossfire Halloween Massacre returns to London on Saturday November 1st in association with Vans. Now in its eighth year, the “gnarliest Halloween party in town” will rock House of Vans London - situated in the spooky Old Vic Tunnels, famed for its dark past and crypt like surroundings.
With a theme of dead rock n' rollers vs zombie ripper fiends, this year’s raucous night of skateboard and music carnage will be headlined by Norwegian deathpunks Turbonegro, alongside some very special guests from the hard-core punk scene; all bands playing special one-off sets exclusively at the House of Vans.
Guest DJs include a party hip-hop set from BBC Radio 1Xtra’s DJ Semtex, rock classics from Zac Slack and James Sherry (Crossfire Sound System) plus anthems from Dogger & DMS, Kylie G and more.
Expect a serious mash up of Classic Rock, Punk, Hip Hop, Bass and party classics. Fancy dress is essential, as the event is famous for everyone dressing up to the nines, so start planning and sign up for limited free tickets at the houseofvanslondon.com and caughtinthecrossfire.com
#3 Ski & Snowboard Show London
With a range of new events, deals and competitions the 2014 Ski and Snowboard show is set to be bigger and better than ever! The 2014 Show will host as a range of tour operators and chalet companies who will be on hand to advise those considering a ski holiday.
The Show will also offer visitors live freestyle ski demonstrations, insider tips from snow sports experts in the Mountain Talks Theatre, après bars, live music and the chance to receive a free lift pass to a variety of resorts.
The Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Show London will take place at Earls Court 2, London from 30 October – 2 November 2014.
#4 Frieze is coming to town
From October 15 - 18 it's arty farty time in Regent's Park! Frieze is one of the most famous art fairs and takes place each October in London. What can you expect? A lot of good, well-known international galleries, but also a few younger galleries. There will also be a Sculpture Park, which is rather unique in the art fair world.
"This year’s Frieze Sculpture Park is an intriguing and delightful breath of fresh air featuring artists from across three generations. We see explorations of the natural world that include a remaking of a 1967 action by Roelof Louw and fencing by Caroline Achaintre, alongside analyses of the human form and its condition in works by Thomas Schütte and Reza Aramesh. Carefully sited across the English Gardens, the sculptures made from a range of materials including bronze, concrete and helium balloons, are a striking pageant of contemporary practice."
#5 The iconic red telephone boxes are going green
The iconic red phone box of London has been painted green and fitted with a roof-mounted solar panel. They will act instead as a solar-powered phone charging station. Inside there is a variety of phone charging ports for a range of smartphone models, as well as a screen that displays ads (it has to be funded in some way). The first of six solarboxes around the city was unveiled two weeks ago on Tottenham Court Road. Five more boxes will be rolled out by April 2015.
#6 James and Bob have a new book
London's most famous ginger cat Bob has a new book! Or at least, James Bowen, a former drug addict and homeless guy who changed his life after finding Bob, has written a new story. After 'A street cat named Bob' and 'The world according to Bob', there's now 'A gift from Bob'. In this new story from their journey together, James looks back at the last Christmas they spent scraping a living on the streets and how Bob helped him through one of his toughest times. A must-read!

#7 NYE in London
Unfortunately the annual New Year's Eve fireworks is ticketed now.. (Thank you Boris.) Tickets are still available here and cost £10. I think it'll be worth it! It's my first NYE in London this year, so I'm already excited although it's only October :)
For my Belgian readers: Eurostar tickets are still available and aren't that expensive yet, so go get them!
