You definitely know one of the famous portaits David Bailey made of a variety of artists and fashion icons. At the moment there's an exhibition about his career at the National Portrait Gallery: 'Bailey's Stardust'. A must-see when in London!
As an East-Londoner, David Bailey (°1938) made a bunch of photographs of the East End during the sixties. There are beautiful black and white pictures showing the area before its gentrification as well as a series of 'East End faces' with people from the neighbourhood. The exhibition also contains photos of his travels to Sudan, Papua New Guinea and Delhi.
Bailey's Stardust until June 1 at the National Portrait Gallery, London.
