Loveable because they have the best Pad Thai.
Busaba Eathai is a casual Thai dining venue offering a single course eating experience. So don't expect to sit there all night and you won't get any desserts either, but the food is so good. You share a square table with other people, so maybe you end up talking to someone? 10 locations all over London.
Tried & tested: Goodge Street, Hoxton Square, Westfield Shepherd's Bush, St. Christopher's Place
Loveable because of their healthy fast food vision.
You can order many different bits and bobs and share them. I also recommend you try their homemade lemonade: delicious! The restaurants are nicely decorated and they have take away as well. It's not a restaurant - restaurant, so if you are a bit hungry around 5pm; just swing by and order Morrocan meatballs or a wrap. Locations are all over London so check the website. (PS: they have wonderful cookbooks as well.)
Tried and tested: Bankside (just behind the Tate Modern)
Loveable because it's a bit of cosy Venice in London.
Think Italian tapas. Share a few smaller dishes (meatballs, fish, salad, meat, bread, pizette, vegetables etc.) and be surprised about the fine flavors.
Tried and tested: Chelsea (near the Saatchi Gallery)
Other locations in London: Soho, Covent Garden, Notting Hill and Smithfield
N°11 Pimlico Road
11 Pimlico Rd
London SW1W 8NA
θ Sloane Square
Loveable because it looks fancy, but prices are normal.
I had a chicken and chorizo schnitzel with house made remoulade and fries, which was delicious! My friend took the wild mushroom gnocchi and loved it, because next time she went there she took it again. They also do breakfast and brunch.
28 London Bridge Street
London SE1 9SG
(next to the Shard, θ London Bridge)
Loveable because of the view and the great art on the walls (provided by Arcade, a London-based gallery).
... and of course because of the delicious food. Australian head chef Magnus Reid's daily-changing menu places an emphasis on sustainability, so it's definitely fresh and healthy. Once you are buzzed in (just ring and say you're there for the restaurant) you arrive on the top floor and have a quiet view over busy London. The Shard is just next to you.
Loveable because of the great food in a beautiful interior.
Yummy Lebanese affordable food (also take-away). I can definitely recommend their fresh lemonades and wraps. There are many locations in London, so put this one on your to do list!
Tried and tested: 1-5 Exhibition Road, London SW7 2HE
But also in: Soho, Chelsea, Wigmore, Westfield London and Westfield Stratford
Loveable beacause of n° 71 on the menu: chicken katsu curry (my all-time favourite dish and I bet it will be yours too).
Fresh japanese-inspired food in a friendly, vibrant setting. There are 10 locations all over London. Yes, there are also Wagamama restaurants outside of London (in Antwerp for example), but London's Bloomsbury was where it all began in 1992...
Tried & tested: Covent garden, Clink Street/London bridge, Islington and Bloomsbury/Tottenham Court Road
Loveable because of the delicious oven-baked pizzas.
Lovely modern Italian restaurant. There are many locations in London, but I really recommend you go to 'Strada Riverside' and book a table near the window; you'll have a stunning view over the Tower Bridge and London's skyline.
Tried & tested: Covent garden, Riverside, Royal Festival Hall
111 Kingsland High Street
London E8 2PB
θ Dalston Kingsland
Loveable because the good food makes up for the ugly interior.
This restaurant in Dalston serves delicious authentic Turkish food. As I said, the interior is quite authentic as well, which means ugly (sorry guys). But it's cosy and the people are very friendly.
150 Gloucester Avenue
θ Chalk Farm
Loveable because it's the ideal lunch stop on your way to Primrose Hill.
Modern English pub with very friendly staff, value for money, nice atmosphere, etc. When visiting Primrose Hill, this is a good place for lunch. I had a good burger but they also have a caesar salad for example.
